Sunday evening and I’ve got a chicken roasting in the oven for Chris’s dinner and a big tray of veggies roasting for mine. Penny is sitting on my knee all snuggled up and the end of the weekend is settled on us with peace and gratitude for all that this week has brought. So, here is my Nourished Life Gratitude List 2016 – Week Forty-One2016-week-41-biscottiWe had some bad news early this week (nothing life threatening, just annoying) so after we dealt with it Chris pushed me out the door with my running shoes and earphones and told me to go for a long walk and head to yoga. It was just what I needed and by the time we said namaste I was calm and collected. I am grateful that Chris knows how I need to deal with problems by getting out and being physical and getting my mind completely off issues. I am also grateful that I know I can go to my yoga mat to deal with problems and escape stress. 2016-week-41-bookThis week I chomped through Glennon Doyle Melton‘s ‘Love Warrior‘. She is a phenomenal writer, and her story is one of human strength, compassion, love and transformation. She touches on not only love and relationships but also feminism, and body image. I am grateful this book came into my life. I have certainly learned some lessons and been left with much to think about from its pages. 2016-week-41-saladThis week I had to have a pill endoscopy and I wasn’t allowed to eat for 25 hours. That’s more than a day! Firstly, I am grateful that I have excellent medical care and specialists taking care of me, and secondly, that I have access to regular meals all the time when so many others go hungry. I am also grateful that when the time came I could break my feast with toast and peanut butter. Yum. 2016-week-41-dog-parkThis week Chris and I took Penny to the dog park for the first time! She wasn’t quite sure what to do with all the space! I ran around like a crazy dog showing her what to do and she got into the spirit of it. I am grateful that we have a beautiful big dog park for Penny to have fun in. 2016-week-41-jess-and-meI got to spend a whole lot of time with my family and Chris’s family this weekend. On Saturday I saw a movie and went shopping with Mum and Jess before Chris and I went to a homemade pizza night with his family. We talked and laughed all night long. On Sunday after I went for a run I spent the afternoon with Mum and Dad watching car racing and going through old photo albums. It was such a treat to find gems such as the above photo 😉 I am grateful for my childhood and the effort my parents put into preserving those memories.

Tell me, friends, what are you grateful for this week?
